Dr. Maria Pitta is Psychiatrist with many years of experience in the management and treatment of problems related to the whole spectrum of mental disorders. In addition, her professional career is characterized by continuous development and substantial contribution to the field of Psychiatry. 12
Initially, she served in the Civil Service in both Greece and Cyprus, holding various positions of responsibility. In addition, she served for many years as Scientific Coordinator of the Department of Mental Health Services at the Paphos General Hospital. Since 2015, she has been the Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychiatry at the Paphos Hospital. She has been the Director of the Athalassa Psychiatric Hospital (PsNA) since 2005., where she took critical initiatives to improve the services provided.
At the same time, she was responsible for the training program of residents in Psychiatry, contributing decisively to the formation of new professionals in the field. She also coordinated the training program for students of the Medical School of University of Cyprus, as well as the students of the Saint George Medical School UNIC University of Nicosia, where she holds the title of Honorary Associate Professor.
